The outdoors are for everybody — and there are plenty of hikes in our area that are friendly to wheelchairs, strollers, and other mobility aids. Get some fresh air on three of our favorite accessible trails.
McAllister Park Baseball Field Loop Trail
This 2.4-mile loop is a little less busy than some of the other park trails — and you may even spot a deer. The trail is paved and is typically 5-ft wide, but watch out for bumps and mud.
Mission Trails
Most of the Mission Trail is accessible, and there are many paved paths around each of the major sites. The sites also loan out wheelchairs and the ranger-led tours are on paved sections. Read the park’s accessibility page for more info.
Leon Creek Greenway: North from Grissom Rd.
Enjoy views of the stream bed as you take in the great outdoors. This 11.9-mile trail is paved, relatively flat, and typically about 6-ft wide. We recommend parking at the Grissom Road lot where there are two designated accessible spots.
