♍️ Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)

O.P. Schnabel Park, 9606 Bandera Rd. | You’re a great friend once people take the time to get to know you. In true Virgo fashion, it takes time to explore this hidden park on the northwest side of town and you’ll find its wonders with patience. In the end, you’ll be glad you made a visit.

Meet San Antonio’s Metro Health Mobile Clinic

    San Antonio City Tower Skyline
Learn about the ways Metro Health provides no-cost health services with it’s mobile clinics. | Photo by SATXtoday team
The Countdown City offers a variety of ways to keep healthy. From vegan eateries and local gyms to focusing on mental health and playing pickleball — we’re switching gears and talking about the Metro Health Mobile Clinic. Because preventing STIs is also a part of leading a healthy lifestyle.

The Texas Department of Health Services reports that as of 2022, there is a steady increase year over year in STDs + STIs. Metro Health is working to reduce those rates locally in neighborhoods across San Antonio.

Part of San Antonio’s Metropolitan Health District, the mobile clinic offers a STI Control and Prevention Program. It offers testing, referrals for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis medications, and links to care services.

    Getting involved

If you have a passion for public health, consider joining the Medical Volunteer Coordinating Committee (MVCC).

The MVCC creates a network of medical + mental health volunteers with experience in fire service, public works, EMS or hospital work.
