It’s patio weather here in San Antonio, and what better way to enjoy the warmer temperatures than with an ice-cold beverage. The nation’s largest beer week — American Craft Beer Week 2024 — is happening here in the Alamo City Monday, May 13 through Sunday, May 19. This week calls on all beer lovers to support small and independent US breweries.
Here is a list of eight different breweries, tap rooms, and brewpubs around the 210 to support.
After nearly tripping over a broken sandal in a brewery parking lot — the name of this brewery was born. Customers can enjoy year-round beers like the Jeffeweizen and the 210 Porter.
This family-owned brewpub features an indoor taproom and an outdoor patio for the kids to play while the adults hang out with friends + enjoy a cold one.
Located inside the Cavender Cadillac sister building, the 15,000-sqft indoor-outdoor brewery includes two full bars, a dog-friendly patio, and a 10-barrel craft brewery.
Opening its second German-inspired location in Hemisfair, this brewery features all your favorite menu items including bratwursts, hot dogs, and of course beer.

The San Marcos City Council voted last week to change the city’s water restrictions during times of drought — the first time since 2015. Previous restrictions reflected how much water was available locally, now it reflects water levels across all the city’s water sources like the Edwards Aquifer and the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer. (TPR)

Commuting up + down Broadway just got a whole lot easier. | Photo by City of San Antonio.
Here’s some road construction news to get excited about — Lower Broadway has reopened to two-way traffic and will remain open for the rest of the 2017 Bond project. The updates are scheduled for completion this summer — making commuting around downtown a lot easier.
Let’s take a look at the reopened sections of Broadway:
Broadway from Pecan Street to 4th Street, including the Broadway & Pecan Street + Broadway & 3rd Street intersections — the road in front of Kiki’s Coffee & Spirits.
Broadway from McCullough Avenue to 6th Street, including the intersection of Broadway + McCullough Avenue.
Note: There will be one to two days of rolling closures toward the end of the project while crews pour the final two inches of asphalt. Other remaining construction work includes sidewalks, landscaping, and pavement striping.
Fun fact: The Fiesta parade route crosses Broadway at Brooklyn — the intersection was already open to traffic, but crews will open the sidewalks for parade-watchers in that area.
I’m not sure about y’all, but this first weekend of Fiesta absolutely took it out of me and I had the absolute best time. We had a blast meeting with our partners at KENS 5 and doing a Fiesta medal swap.
Still haven’t gotten one of medals? Come see us on Thursday at Hops and Hounds for our final giveaway for 2024.
