Here’s some road construction news to get excited about — Lower Broadway has reopened to two-way traffic and will remain open for the rest of the 2017 Bond project. The project is scheduled for completion this summer —making commuting around downtown a lot easier.

Let’s take a look at the reopened sections of Broadway:

  • Broadway from Pecan Street to 4th Street, including the Broadway & Pecan Street + Broadway & 3rd Street intersections — the road in front of Kiki’s Coffee & Spirits.

Note: There will be one to two days of rolling closures toward the end of the project while crews pour the final two inches of asphalt. Other remaining construction work includes sidewalks, landscaping, and pavement striping.

Fun fact: The Fiesta parade route crosses Broadway at Brooklyn — the intersection was already open to traffic, but crews will open the sidewalks for parade-watchers in that area.
