Major local developer Weston Urban announced Quadrant Biosciences — a life sciences company that delivers diagnostic, therapeutic, and virtual care solutions — as the newest tenant in the historic Rand Building.
The space will serve as its company headquarters. As You Are, an entity of the company, will move into a 6,000-sqft office and offer pediatric telehealth appointments for Texas children in need of autism diagnostic evaluations.
The organization will provide video appointments with physicians to complete diagnostic evaluations among children ages 16 months to 10 years old from the comfort of their own home.
Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications Erin Echelmeyer noted San Antonio as “becoming a hub for biosciences and medical sciences.”
With downtown developments like SATX’s first high-rise multifamily tower300 Main underway, the demand for urban living continues to rise. Weston Urban CEO Randy Smith shared that companies choosing to set up at The Rand are provided a “true competitive advantage” given its proximity to surrounding amenities and collaborative opportunities.
History of inclusion
This news comes months after another major milestone in inclusive care was unveiled in the 210.
The MAC, one of the latest projects for Morgan’s Inclusion Initiative, opened last September. The revolutionary facility brought 30+ community organizations under one roof to provide all-in-one care to people with special needs.
Gordorn Hartman — recently featured on Wealth — founded Morgan’s Wonderland as the world’s “first-and-only theme park designed with special needs in mind” in 2010.
Since then, San Antonio has developed a reputation of quality care that has led to its moniker, “Inclusion City, USA.” Quadrant Biosciences will continue to build on the 210’s legacy as a leader of inclusion.
