It’s October y’all, and that means the NBA season is almost here. If you’ve been following along, the Spurs underwent some changes over the past year, including a new training facility and some fresh talent.
With the first home game of the regular season tipping off on Saturday, Oct. 26, here’s what you can expect to see from the Spurs this season.
A look into the season
The Spurs are projected to be one of the NBA’s youngest teams, averaging ~24 years old based on the current roster. Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, and Jeremy Sochan are still working on their professional resumes while Victor Wembanyama looks to increase his star potential during his second year in the league.
Charles Bassey and Sandro Mamukelashvili both re-signed with the team in the off season. However, we said goodbye to Dominick Barlow (Atlanta Hawks) and Devonte’ Graham (Portland Trail Blazers). Juan Nunez was picked up as the No. 36 pick during the 2024 NBA Draft but has since signed a deal with FC Barcelona.
New players on the block

Chris Paul: Signed a one-year, $11 million contract in hopes to mentor the young players and contribute on the court
Harrison Barnes: Traded from the Sacramento Kings to add experience + scoring to the team

Harrison Ingram: No. 48 pick from the University of Connecticut signed a two-way contract

The goal for the $3.5 million, 19,000-sqft renovation project planned for early 2025 is to improve the nonprofit’s volunteer experience and increase its current numbers. This is the third time since opening in 2008 that the facility has been expanded or remodeled.
With the assistance of San Antonio-based firm Elevate Architecture, the remodel will include:
Updated volunteer lobby
A new volunteer welcome and orientation center
A volunteer engagement space
More room for sign-in kiosks
The organization plans to fund raise for the project beginning next year, with a targeted renovation completion date in late 2025.
I’m super excited for the upcoming Spurs season. I can’t wait to watch Wemby and Chris Paul play together at the Frost Bank Center. Do y’all think we have a shot at making the playoffs this season? Let us know.
