It’s October y’all, and that means the NBA season is almost here. If you’ve been following along, the Spurs underwent some changes over the past year including a new training facility and some fresh talent.

With the first home game of the regular season tipping off on Saturday, Oct. 26, here’s what you can expect to see from the Spurs this season.

A look into the season

The Spurs are projected to be one of the NBA’s youngest teams, averaging 24.05 years old based on the current roster. Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, and Jeremy Sochan are still working on their professional resumes while Victor Wembanyama looks to increase his star potential during his second year in the league.

Charles Bassey and Sandro Mamukelashvili both resigned with the team in the off season. However, we said goodbye to Dominick Barlow (Atlanta Hawks), Devonte’ Graham (Portland Trail Blazers). Juan Nunez was picked up as the No. 36 pick during the 2024 NBA Draft but has since signed a deal with FC Barcelona.

After last year’s 22-60 not-so-stellar season record, the Silver and Black fell back into the Draft lottery where they picked up several young, talented players. Give a big San Antonio welcome to some fresh NBA talent and league legends:

    • Chris Paul: Signed a one-year, $11 million contract — in hopes to mentor the young players and contribute on the court.
    • Harrison Barnes: Traded from the Sacramento Kings — to add experience + scoring to the team.
    • Stephon Castle: No. 4 draft pick from the University of Connecticut signed a two-way contract.
    • Harrison Ingram: No. 48 pick from North Carolina signed a two-way contract.
    • Brandon Boston Jr. and Malachi Flynn both signed as a free agents.
    • Riley Minix: Signed with the team after going undrafted in the 2024 NBA draft.
