Raise your hand if you get eaten alive by mosquitoes every summer. We see you.
With all the rain San Antonio received in July, the city is lush with beautiful vegetation. But with rain, mosquitoes are soon to follow.
City resources
Metro Health provides pest control services on public property (not residential) for mosquitoes using Vector Control. These reduction techniques help control the mosquito population on public property by eliminating the breeding source. One method used is called fogging and is carried out on an as-needed basis.
Tips and tricks
Here are five tips to limit mosquitoes around your property:
Keep the water in your fountains fresh and moving at all times.
Dump standing water in flower pots and buckets.
Clear and fill tree holes to prevent water from pooling.
Clear out derby from gutters.
Remove children’s toys and trash from the yard — water can get trapped in here.
Amazon’s No. 1 new release — a rechargeable vacuum sealer. Preserve food in your kitchen with this portable, leak-proof sealer that offers up to 30 BPA-free, microwave safe bags to ensure high quality storage.
Which restaurant am I excited to try out? I’ve heard great things about Roca & Martillo at the Rock at La Cantera. I’m a sucker for cheesecake and it’s offered on its restaurant week’s dinner menu as a dessert option.
