Taking out the garbage and recycling plastic is a no-brainer. When it comes to questionable items such as batteries, spray paint, household chemicals (like freon + fertilizers), and furniture, knowing how to dispose of them properly isn’t always as easy.
Does anyone else have a small family of cleaning sprays living in the back of a kitchen cabinet, or is that just us?
That’s why we’re going to spend a little time giving you the necessary tools when it comes to hard-to-dispose items in the 210.
Don’t want to head to the collection center? No problem. The city offers two curbside bulk pickups a year.
City residents will receive a door hanger flyer seven to 10 days in advance of the next pickup date. Use this tool to get an estimate of your next collection date.

Sprouts Farmers Market is expanding to New Braunfels with a new $2.3 million store. According to a filing, 275 Creekside Crossing is set to have a 23,395-sqft shopping space. Construction is slated to begin in September with an estimated completion in March 2025.

The Good Kind is on summer break through Wednesday, Aug. 14. The Southtown restaurant will be closed as it gives its staff a few weeks off. Stay tuned for future event announcements when it reopens.

San Antonio Metro Health opened registrations for its latest health series, “Diabetes Garage: Self-Management for Men.” The four-week course is designed to help those understand diabetes and how to manage it — using car maintenance analogies. Registration closes Saturday, Aug. 3, with a class starting that day at 12:30 p.m.
