Raise your hand if you think San Antonio is the best city in the US. Throughout 2023, the 210 has landed on multiple top 10 lists from the best grocers to the geekiest cities in the country.
We’ve rounded up a few of our favorite lists that San Antonio has ranked highly on, and created one of our own. Here is SATXtoday’s top 10 list of times the Alamo City ranked top 10 on lists:
9. Best City to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse
Video games have prepared us for this moment. Lawn Love compared 200 of the biggest cities in the US, and San Antonio ranked No. 3.
8. Geekiest Cities
Who can argue with that? We host San-Japan which rightfully makes us No. 3 on the list.
7. Best BBQ Restaurants in the U.S
The restaurant is just 45 minutes north of San Antonio in New Braunfels, Travel Awaits couldn’t pass up highlighting Black’s Barbecue for the No. 2 spot.

The City of San Antonio was awarded a $6.25 million grant from the United States Department of Justice, and the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. The additional funding will be used to hire 50 police officers over a three year period. (San Antonio Express News)

The San Antonio River Authority unveiled a new rendering of its Link Project — a development that would create a pedestrian connection between the River Walk and the San Pedro Creek Culture Park. Learn more at a public engagement meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 6-7:30 p.m., at the Central Library.

The City of San Antonio Arts & Culture department is looking for its next Art Collections Project Manager. Responsibilities include public art + collections maintenance, conservation projects, and management of the city’s 800+ piece collection. The deadline to apply is Sunday, Nov. 19.

The Magik Theatre announced the return of its holiday production of the classic children’s story, “The Velveteen Rabbit.” Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children. Don’t miss: Opening Night Party in the Park is on Saturday, Nov. 18 before the show at 4:30 p.m.

The home of the original puffy taco, Ray’s Drive Inn, announced new operating hours. Citing circumstances out of the restaurant’s control, the new hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday + Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Drank Soda Shop is celebrating its one year anniversary this month. Stop by on Saturday, Nov. 18, for food + drinks, giveaways, live music, and vendors. Pro tip: Bring a food can donation for the San Antonio Food Bank and get a drink for $1.

Bakery Lorraine’sHoliday delights are right around the corner. The bakery is taking pre-orders for its advent calendar through Sunday, Nov. 19, featuring chocolates, caramels, and candies. The calendars are $75 and can be picked up in store, or shipped, on Wednesday, Nov. 22.
