525,600 minutes. In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee. How do you measure a year living in the best city in the world?

Today, on our first anniversary, we want to take a moment to look back at some highlights during our trip around the sun.

A drive down memory lane 🛣️

In one year, we’ve been able to share some incredible moments with all of you — like welcoming the new holiday staple, Lightscape, to San Antonio, and sharing five things you didn’t know about Military City, USA.

We can’t forget about the excitement of seeing Port SA’s vision for tech in 2023 and DeLorean Motor Co.'s plans to move its global headquarter to SATX.

    Skyline-altering news 🏗️

One year’s time also brought some exciting development announcements to the 210.
    • 305 Soledad St. | At 400 feet tall, this new residential tower is planned to be one of San Antonio’s tallest buildings.
    • Hemisfair hotel | Slated for the site at 222 S. Alamo St. is a 17-story, 200-room boutique hotel overlooking the ongoing Civic Park development.
    • Ninth-tallest downtown tower | In most recent news, the City of San Antonio approved the construction of a 28-story, 351-ft-tall tower at Hemisfair.

    Interviews 💬

Sometimes, the best way to learn about your city is through the eyes of someone else. Who better to ask than community leaders, industry professionals, and local celebrities? Here are just a few people we’ve had the pleasure of speaking to.
Now, before the waterworks come, we want to take a moment to say thank you. Oftentimes, the best part of our day is reading your emails and hearing how much you’re enjoying our work. We couldn’t do what we do without the overwhelming support for our readers.

Whether you’re a long-time reader or just subscribed today (howdy 👋), we appreciate you + look forward to many more years in your inbox.

Celebrating on the ‘gram: SATXtoday’s birthday

We can’t celebrate our birthday without talking about all the special moments we’ve gotten to share on our socials.

This goes without saying, but we’ve grown a lot since we first launched — almost 17,000 followers worth of growth, to be specific.

But that’s not all. In just the past 90 days, we’ve gotten to celebrate San Antonio with 886,000+ accounts. Some of those highlights we’ll take with us forever.

We will always love to look back at:
    • The time we received an outpouring of love for local business with readers sharing their favorite spots to shop small, totaling over 115 tags.
    • The time we met some of our fellow SATX creators and then later got to share our media day experience at Fright Fest.
    • The time we kicked off our “favorite downtown spots” series with a reel that has since garnered 336,000 views.
    • The time City Editor Iván thought he might pass out on Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger.
    THE WRAP

Today’s issue was written by Iván.

Editor’s pick: A year has come and gone, yet we’ve only begun to scratch the surface of what we think makes San Antonio the best place to live. All I can hope for is that I’ve been able to share a bit of my love for this city with you all. If we’ve ever inspired a smile (or even a laugh) in you, please share SATXtoday with a friend. Cheers, San Antonio. 🥂
