Hemisfair boutique hotel headed for review

Hemisfair is currently undergoing a $340 million revitalization that includes the Civic Park project, a boutique hotel, and other upgrades to the surrounding areas.

The much-anticipated hotel at Hemisfair has officially been unveiled and is headed to review by the Historic and Design Review Commission.

Planned for the site at 222 S. Alamo St. is a 17-story, 200-room boutique hotel overlooking the ongoing Civic Park development.

According to the submitted plans, Hemisfair Hotel (the name is not final) will not only provide lodging but also host a space for a park-facing restaurant + five retail spaces on the ground floor.

But that’s not all — plans show a rooftop pool deck and cabana areas along with a top-level event space + bar.

The development is expected to wrap up by 2025 according to Overland Partners project architect Michael Monceaux. The Hemisfair Park Area Redevelopment Corporation has planned a soft opening for January of that year — see the renderings below.
