Welcome to SATXtoday Book Club

In the spirit of supporting local authors, we want to share two more books + a challenge.

We’re calling it the SATX Book Club — there are no stakes or prizes. All you have to do is send us an email to hello@satxtoday.com if you’d like to join. We’ll ask you at the beginning of next month if you’ve read one of the books.

Those who read at least one of two choices will be inducted in our SATX Book Club Hall of Fame.

This month, we’ve chosen the following books:

The Border is Burning, by Ito Romo | This book contains a collection of stories that capture Romo’s life between both San Antonio and Laredo.

The House on Mango Street, by Sandra Cisneros | Cisneros lived in the King William District for most of her 29 years prior to moving to Mexico in 2013. This novel of a young girl growing up in the Latino section of Chicago has become a coming-of-age classic.
