From the historic Alamo to the heart of the Southside, you may have seen this bright red vintage-inspired beauty riding around town — that’s Rosie. She’s a classic Schwinn cruiser exploring San Antonio sights all while giving back to the community one pedal at a time.
🚲 Rosie’s Story
In 2018, Rosie was adopted by San Antonio native Mitzi Moore who re-learned to ride a bike at age 50. Together, they venture out into the Alamo City to share the beauty that lives within + document it through Rosie The Bicycle blog.

🚲 Alamo City Adventures
It’s safe to say that Rosie is never two-tired to explore the city. For each place visited, Mitzi includes a brief history lesson about what makes the sight worth seeing. City Editor Rossi really enjoyed the post about Olmos Creek Trail and how the Floods of 1998 affected the area + how the San Antonio Street Art Initiative is working to make a difference in the community by adorning the city — including the trails — with vibrant street art.

🚲 Art Shows turn to Pop-up Markets
Fast forward a few years and 600+ snapshots of Rosie posing throughout the Alamo City, Mitzi decided to submit her photos to an art show. Low and behold — Rosie was accepted and on display at Brick at Bluestar earlier this year.
After that show, she was invited to be a part of a market at Cafe Cotidiano where most of the vendors are women-owned businesses. Mitzi set up and sold photos, books, coasters, stickers + magnets of Rosie gracing the covers.

🚲 Rosie Gives Back
While Rosie hopes to continue to be featured at art shows, she currently sets up at a handful of markets where you can meet her + purchase her swag. The best part 100% of proceeds made at each market go back to the Migrant Ministry of San Antonio Mennonite Church initiative to help asylum seekers and immigrant families.
