Unwrapping deliciousness

Where to get tamales in San Antonio, TX
The perfect gift to unwrap this holiday season. | Photo by @themosthungry
There’s no denying that the Spurs, Fiesta, and a good breakfast taco are a few of San Antonians’ favorite things. But all those combined might not top the most wonderful time of the year — tamale season.

In celebration of this perfectly wrapped delectable gift, we’re helping you plan ahead with a list of four spots you can place your dozen — or should we say dozens — of tamale orders.

Delicious Tamales, multiple locations
Order the signature Atomic Tamales infused with ghost peppers. Finishing even one will earn you serious bragging rights if you live to tell the tale.

Chilito’s Express, 826 Johns Rd., Boerne
The menu is serving up pork, cream cheese chicken, and cream cheese jalapeño tamales just to name a few.

Tamale Boy, 5300 S. Flores
Tamale Boy is getting creative in the kitchen with its Kadillak + Carne Guisada tamale. Pre orders for Thanksgiving are closed, but you still have time to order for December.

Adelita’s Tamales, 1130 Fresno St.
This locally-owned business has been a San Antonio staple for 80 years.

We know this isn’t an exhaustive list. What’s your go-to tamale spot? Drop us a line and we might use it in a future newsletter.
