The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality issued an Ozone Action Day for the San Antonio area today. The State Fair of Texas is in full swing, but navigating the fair can be overwhelming for anyone who is going for the first time — especially during the Red River Rivalry game this weekend. Here are a few things to keep in mind before heading out.
Do...
Wear comfortable clothing and stay hydrated.

Plan to arrive early, as parking and traffic can be frustrating. Parking is $30 per space.
Bring cash. While many vendors accept cards, some might only take cash.
Don’t...
Bring selfie sticks, tripods, monopods, and similar items. These items are not allowed on fairgrounds without a media pass.
Make large signs or props, they aren’t allowed on fairgrounds.
Overpack. Keep it light— you will be doing a lot of walking.
