Get ready to come alive — or play dead at a fall-tastic haunted house like the 13th Floor — with this guide featuring 30+ fall events happening now through November.

San Antonio Pumpkin Festival | Friday Sept. 27 to Sunday, Oct. 27 | Times vary | The festival features a train ride through a replica Alamo, a whimsical carousel, a massive corn maze, a Wild West Village, bounce around on giant pumpkins, and 45+ unique pumpkin varieties.

Good News Pumpkin Patch | Sunday, Sept. 29 to sell-out | Times vary | This annual pumpkin patch on the Southeast side starts with its pumpkin unload day. Pumpkins range from $1 to $45. Don’t miss: National Night Out on Tuesday, Oct. 1 featuring free food (while supplies last), hayrides, and barrel train rides from 6 to 8 p.m.

Helotes Hills United Methodist Church Annual Pumpkin Patch | Wednesday, Oct. 2-Thursday, Oct. 31 | Times vary | Swing by for pumpkins, photo ops, and pumpkin bread. Pumpkin sales will continue through Halloween or until sell-out.

Northwest Hills United Methodist | Sunday, Oct. 6-Thursday, Oct. 31 | 12-9 p.m. | 7575 Tezel Rd. | Visit the patch beginning Sunday, Oct. 6 for its new photo opportunities.

Traders Village San Antonio| Sunday, Sept. 28-November | 10 a.m.–5 p.m. | Make sure to check out the 10-acre “corny” maze that’s only available on weekends.

Haunted houses

13th Floor Haunted House | Friday, Sept, 13-Saturday, Nov. 9| Times vary | 1203 E. Commerce St. | Take a journey through “The Grymm” with Red Riding Hood as the stories from the enchanted book of fairy tales come to life. Guests 21+ can stop by the secret bar for a refreshing drink before heading back into the madness. Note: This event maybe too intense for children 12 years old and under.

Nightmare At Owl Creek | Friday, Oc.t 4- Sunday Nov. 3 | Times vary | 12355 Military Dr. West | This maze at sunset transforms into a haunted adventure filled with spine-chilling scares, eerie sounds, and twisted surprises around every corner. The haunted maze is packed with phantoms, zombies, witches, and creatures that lurk in the shadows.

Fright Fest | Saturday, Sept. 7-Sunday, Nov. 3 | Times vary | Six Flag Fiesta Texas | Gear up for frightful haunted houses, eerie scare zones, and live entertainment. Pro tip: Review the latest chaperone policy for the frightful event.

More Delightful Than Frightful | Friday, Sept. 27 - Thursday, Oct. 31 | Times vary | Morgan’s Wonderland | Celebrate every weekend with bootastic entertainment, thrilling activities, and spookalicious eats and treats for the whole family. Some of the activities include eight candy stations for free trick-or-treating, costume contests with prizes, and themed Instagrammable walls.

Happy Frights and Haunting Nights | Thursday, Oct. 3 - Saturday, Nov. 2 | Times vary | San Antonio Botanical Gardens | Gather the family for Happy Frights — a fun, trick-or-treating experience through a not-so-spooky world throughout the Gardens. Once the sun goes down, Haunting Nights begins with a thrilling Halloween experience. This event featuring witches and swamp creatures, a 70-ft long pumpkin tunnel, and a maze of surprises in the Neon Labyrinth.

HOWL-O-WEEN Fest | Friday, Oct. 11 | 11 a.m. | The Dog Co. Ice House | Bring the whole family out for a bounce house, trunk or treat, face painting, and a costume contest. All the fun starts at 11 a.m.

Black Lagoon Pop-Up | Friday, Oct. 11-Thursday, Oct. 31 | Times vary | Three Star Bar | The “creepy as hell” touring bar experience is hitting up 25+ North American cities this fall, including a first-time stop in the Alamo City. Plan ahead to experience this spine-tingling pop-up featuring themed drinks.

Día de los Muertos

Experience the Day of the Dead San Antonio River Parade on Friday, Oct. 25.

Day of the Dead Festival | Friday, Oct. 25- Sunday, Oct. 27 | Times vary | La Villita | See Mexico’s Día de Muertos come to life in downtown San Antonio. The three-day event will include free community events, drinks at the Herradura Legend Lounge (21+ only), a music festival, and a giant Alebrijes exhibit.

Day of the Dead River Parade | Friday, Oct. 25 | San Antonio River Walk | See decorated floats with altars, catrinas, and costumed riders all celebrating life + loved ones. These decorated barges each represents a facets of Día de los Muertos and will parade down the river that runs through the heart of our city along the River Walk.

Muertos Fest | Saturday, Oct. 26-Sunday, Oct. 27 | 10 a.m.-11 p.m. + 12 p.m.- 9 p.m. | Hemisfair | The two-day event is free and open to the public, bringing together art and culture with live music and entertainment to celebrate the Day of the Dead. Visitors can expect altars, a procession, workshops, and food.

Barrio Muertos Party | Saturday, Nov. 2 | 4 p.m. to midnight | Alamo Beer Co. | This free, family-friendly event includes altars displayed in the trunks of low-riders, a block party, an art exhibit, photo ops, live music, and a night vendor market.

Altares y Ofrendas | Saturday, Nov. 2-Thursday, Nov. 7 | 12-6 p.m. | Centro Cultural Aztlan | The 47th annual exhibition illustrates the artistic, cultural, and religious facets of Día de los Muertos featuring local artists.

Concerts and live music

Jazz’SAlive Music Festival | Friday, Sept. 27 + Saturday, Sept. 28 | Times vary | Civic Park | The 41st annual Jazz’SAlive brings traditional and Latin jazz to center stage in the heart of downtown San Antonio.

Tacos and Tequila Festival | Saturday, Oct. 5 | 2 p.m. | Retama Park | Step back in the 1990s and 2000s era of hip-hop at the 21+ event including live performances by T.I., Fat Joe, Pete Pablo, the Ying Yang Twins, and more.

Old World and New Performance |Sunday, Oct. 6 | 3 p.m. | Medina Valley Fine Arts Center | The show features music and dance performances from Spain, Cuba, and Mexico by Alamo City Performing Arts Association, Heart of Texas Concert Band and Alamo City Dance Company.

Diez y Seis Mariachi Festival | Saturday, Oct. 12 | Arneson River Theatre | The Mariachi Festival features performances by middle and high school students from schools in San Antonio and the region.

Seventeen World Tour | Thursday Oct. 31 + Friday, Nov. 1 | 7:30 p.m. | Frost Bank Center | This South Korean boy band is making an Alamo City stop on its world tour. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

Oktoberfest

SATXtoday: Parktoberfest Brackenridge Park

Parktoberfest | Sunday, Sept. 29 | 4-7 p.m. | Brackenridge Park | The 13th annual event hosted celebrates San Antonio’s German heritage and honors Emma Koehler of the Pearl Brewing family, who donated 11 acres to San Antonio where alcohol could be served in this part of Brackenridge Park.

Oktoberfest | Friday, Oct. 11 | 6-11 p.m | The Rock at La Cantera | The inagural event will include Stein hoist contests, German food + drinks, live music with headliner “The Seven Dutchmen,” and a market with seasonal-themed vendors.

Stable Stein Fest: An Oktoberfest Celebration | Saturday, Oct. 5 | 1-8 p.m. | Stable Hall at Historic Pearl | The free, inaugural event will feature German + local craft brews, a Schilo’s Deli pop-up, a Steinholding competition, and sounds by Bexar Brass, Spies Like Us, MacKenzie’s Good Time Polka Band, and more.

San Antonio Beer Festival | Saturday, Oct. 19 | 12 p.m. | Crockett Park | Experience San Antonio’s original beer fest with premium and craft beers from over 100 breweries from around the world. Note: This is a 21+ event.

Wurstfest | Friday, Nov. 1- Sunday, Nov. 10 | Landa Park, New Braunfels | Celebrate Texas’ German Heritage on the bank of the Comal River. Guests can enjoy food, music, dancing, carnival rides + games, beer (German, Texan, and domestic), and more.

San Antonio Black International Film Festival | Friday Oct. 4-Sunday, Oct. 6 | Times vary | Multiple locations | This festival showcases films and supports filmmakers of African descent. This year’s theme focuses on wellness through history, health, and healing.

Aki Matsuri JASSA Fall Festival | Saturday Oct. 5 | 11 a.m.-4 p.m. | Mateo Camargo Park | This fall festival celebrates Japanese culture with performances, crafts, and food.

Hispanic Trails Cultural Festival | Sunday, Oct. 13 | 1-8 p.m. | Wonderland of the Americas | Celebrate San Antonio’s Latin cultures with captivating music, folk dances, and food.

Luminaria | Saturday, Oct. 19 | 6 p.m.-midnight | St. Paul’s Square | The annual festive is at a new location this year, but will still feature all the immersive nighttime displays of lights and art featuring 100+ artists representing a wide array of artistic genres. This year, the festival is tying in with UTSA’s Homecoming football game combining art with sport.

Mehregan Persian Autumn Festival| Sunday, October 20 | 5-9 p.m. | Main Plaza | Immerse yourself in the vibrant colors and culture of Persia to mark the arrival of autumn.

16th Annual Diwali San Antonio | Saturday, Nov. 2 | 4 p.m.- midnight | Arneson Theater and Hemisfair | Experience the culture of India through music, dance, and food.
