How can we not fall in love with a city that looks this stunning? | Photo by @vrushabh4
Do you have friends + family visiting the Alamo City this holiday season and want to show them the best of what our city has to offer? Well, that’s what we’re here for. With input from our readers and personal recommendations from our City Editors, we curated a full-day itinerary that’ll maximize your time in San Antonio.
Morning:
Start your morning off with a unique local brunch spot, Coffee + Culture. Need a wake up call? Grab a mimosa and chow down on a plate of chilaquiles featuring homemade corn tortillas, green tomatillo salsa, queso fresco, and your choice of protein.
Pick up a latte from What’s Brewing Coffee Company.
Oh, you still want a cup of coffee? No problem, head on over to What’s Brewing Coffee Company — San Antonio’s longest running coffee roaster. Once you get your coffee in hand, play a game of pinball (or two), the machines cost 25¢. Check out 27 more coffee shops around town.
Afternoon:
In the mood to catch a movie?
Not only is there candy, drinks, and food (the loaded fries are a must-have), but here in San Antonio we have Santikos Theaters. Yes, that is a brag. The local theater chain offers a variety of experiences at its cinemas like bowling, arcade, specialty drinks + happy hours, and even laser tag at select theaters.
Evening:
An evening stroll along Confluence Park is serene during sunset. Once your candy has settled, it’s time for dinner and our recommendation? Dough Pizzeria. Nestled in Hemisfair sits this local Neapolitan-style pizza place serving up a delicious Margherita pizza.
Grab a slice (or two) from Dough Pizzeria Napoletana.
After your food has settled, we think this would be the perfect opportunity to take a walk through one of San Antonio’s newest parks — Civic Park. Pro tip: Don’t forget about the downtown parking situation.

Last week we asked if you’ve shopped at vintage and second-hand stores, here’s what you said: The majority of you (64%) love shopping vintage, 14% they haven’t but will visit a store soon, and 23% say it’s not their thing.
I have yet to visit the Springs at Civic Park during sunset, but I bet it looks breathtaking. Looks like the best places to picnic is going to have a new addition. We’ll save it for Spring though, ‘tis be a bit chilly.
