Thanksgiving is fast approaching and we at SATXtoday want to make sure you have all your bases covered — just don’t forget about fido and how they can also enjoy the holiday. San Antonio Animal Care Services is offering residents a few tips + tricks when it comes to pets during the festivities. Let’s dig in.

  • Turkey bones are a choking hazard and should be kept away from your pet. Chocolate, turkey meat, onions, garlic, and raisins are all dangerous for your four-legged friends.
  • Create a safe and comfortable place for anxious pets to relax. Don’t forget to put out fresh food, water, and toys.
  • Do not give your pet table scraps and keep an eye on the trash.
  • Make sure fido has an engraved tag with your name + phone number with a City-required microchip ID just in case they get lost.
