With 10 theaters and 121 cinema screens, it feels like San Antonio can’t get enough of Santikos Theaters. And apparently, we’re not the only ones. Late last week, Santikos Entertainment announced they will be acquiring The Grand Theaters and AmStar Cinemas from VSS-Southern Theaters. This will bring their chain total from 10 locations to 27, spanning eight states.
🍿 What is Santikos?
Santikos Entertainment has been a locally and privately owned theater chain for over 100 years which was started by Louis Santikos in 1911. From the arcades, bars, bowling alleys, food, and even laser tag — the theater chain is a local hit, best known for the movie-going experience. The chain is also known for its charitable foundation and being an active member in the community.
🍿 What’s the deal?
The acquisition of VSS-Southern Theaters will increase Santikos’ footprint across eight states: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina. This will make Santikos Entertainment the 8th largest cinema chain in the US.

San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is expecting its busiest Fourth of July holiday ever, with over 93,000 travelers from the weekend to Thursday.
I am a huge fan of the Rivian vehicles. Right now they offer a truck (R1T) and SUV (R1S). Seeing these on the road make me so excited, not because I think they look great, but also the capability of these electric vehicles is quite amazing.
The construction news is a major win for Rivian owners in and around the San Antonio area, so instead of driving to Austin to get your vehicle serviced, next year you’ll be able to have the same access in the 210.
