The City of San Antonio is now accepting applications for its fourth Youth Engagement Council. Since the beginning of the program in 2020, it has partnered with EcoRise (a sustainability nonprofit) and the city’s mayor.

The mission of the Youth Engagement Council is to influence the city’s climate policy and to strengthen community relationships by allowing high school students to gain first-hand experience on what it is like to create environmental policy.

Who can apply?

High school students in and around the San Antonio area are eligible to apply, and students in underrepresented communities are highly encouraged to submit applications.

How can students apply?

Applications are now open through Monday, September 11 and the city offers English + Spanish versions of the form.

The Youth Council Cohort is set to start this fall and will go through the 2023-2024 school year.
