Ahead of National Wine Day on Sunday, May 25, we wanted to introduce you to the newest winery in the Texas Hill Country, Halter Ranch Fredericksburg. Hailing from Paso Robles, CA, this tasting room is about an hour north of the Alamo City. Bring a friend to take in the spirit + lifestyle of the California wine country, while deep in the heart of Texas.

What makes this spot different from others on the 290 wine trail? Halter Ranch Fredericksburg wines are made from Certified Organic vineyards. Meaning the wine from its Paso Robles Estate and vineyard partners in Central Texas are sustainably farmed.

Wine tastings at Halter Ranch start at $35 and feature one-of-a-kind sparkling wines to dynamic blends and robust reds.

The winery sits on 32 acres and offers selections ranging from sparking wines to robust reds, including the 2023 Texas Rosé made with organic grapes sourced from Desert Willow Vineyard.

Here’s what to know before you go:

  • Located at 8561 E. US-290 Fredericksburg, TX.
  • Open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Reservations are encouraged but walk ins are welcomed.
  • Tastings start at $35.
  • Order food from its eatery H Restaurant.
