Have you ever wanted to own the Alamo? Now you can for a whopping $400 of Monopoly money that is — in the San Antonio edition of the iconic board game.

The game was recently unveiled during a ceremony at the Menger Hotel, and we noticed some familiar places around the board. ICYMI: San Antonians were given until March 17 of this year to voice their opinion on the most iconic city staples.

These are some of our favorites properties you can now own on the board:

San Fernando Cathedral — The first property on the board after GO.

Founded in 1973, this cathedral is the oldest, continuously functioning religious community in the State of Texas. Every weekend, you can catch the cathedral lit up in a spectacular video art projection show know as San Antonio | The Saga.

The Alamo — The most expensive property on the board. Duh.

Monopoly’s pick for the Alamo City’s highest priced property couldn’t have been more appropriate as this historic landmark has carried its legacy into the present day culture in our beautiful city. Check out today’s News Notes for an opportunity that’s been a long time coming.

Witte Museum — Editor Ivan’s favorite property.

Young or old, this museum holds a special place in San Antonians’ hearts. Since its founding in 1926, the Witte has served to educate the community on all things nature, science + culture. Today, the museum puts on events ranging from cocktail dinners to critter crawls for the littles ones.

Mission Espada — Editor Rossi’s favorite property.

This southside gem is known for its historic value but also as a favorite spot for fishing at the adjacent dam, BBQ cookouts + all around good family fun.

Pro tip: We spotted the game at the H-E-B Plus! on Bandera Rd. + W. Loop 1604 selling for $39.97. The board will also be coming to several local stores like Feliz Modern, Twig + more.
