Lasso in the fun in late July

It’s not the Briscoe’s first rodeo. The art museum is saddling up for a family-friendly celebration on Saturday, July 26 in honor of National Day of the Cowboy. Pre-registration for the 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. activation is open, and it includes free museum admission + access to the “Aloha Vaqueros” exhibition. We’re tipping our hats to these activities that are in store:
  • Live artist demonstrations
  • ‘Lil Buckaroo corral-lassoing and bull riding
  • Crafts like pipe cleaner branding and a DIY spur
  • Food trucks serving up cowboy-approved eats

Parent N Child Pickleball Tournament | 10 a.m.-1 p.m. | Chicken N Pickle | $50 | Join the social or competitive bracket with your little one, depending on your skill level.

Tuesday, July 1

Corpus Christi Hooks vs. San Antonio Missions | Tuesday, July 1-Thursday, July 3 | Times vary | Nelson Wolff Stadium | $5+ | Bark in the Park takes place on Wednesday, followed by a fireworks celebration on Thursday.

The Peach Truck | 9-10:30 p.m. | Lifetime Fitness | Cost of purchase | The Nashville-based biz is rolling into San Antonio — walk-up quantities of peaches are limited, but you can place a pre-order.

Wednesday, July 2

Block Party | 4-8 p.m. | YMCA at O.P. Schnabel Park | Cost of purchase | Put on your suit and hit up the outdoor pool — there will be local food trucks + a margarita truck for the adults.

The Southwestern Grill | 6:30-9 p.m. | Central Market | $100 | Learn to marinate meat until tender, grill it to perfection, create salsas to your taste, and make the perfect sides in this casual grilling class.

Thursday, July 3

Helotes Independence Day Celebration | 6-11 p.m. | Helotes Festival Grounds | Free | The Meyer Anderson Band and the Helotes Area Community Band hit the stage + there will be over 70 vendors set up before the fireworks show begins around 9 p.m.
