Checking off the honey-do list

Taking out the garbage + recycling plastic is a no-brainer. When it comes to questionable items such as batteries, spray paint, household chemicals (like Freon and fertilizers), and furniture, knowing how to dispose of them properly isn’t always as easy.

That’s why we’re going to spend a little time giving you the necessary tools when it comes to hard-to-dispose items in the 210.

Where to go


Drop off unwanted items five days a week at these four locations:
  • Bitters Bulky Waste Collection Center near SAT
  • Frio City Road Center in the Palm Heights neighborhood
  • Culebra Bulky Waste Collection Center along Culebra and 410
  • Rigsby Road Bulky Waste Collection Center located near Comanche Park
Don’t miss: The City of San Antonio hosts yearly Free Landfill Days. Plan ahead for it’s next one happening on Saturday, Feb. 8.

Tomorrow, Feb. 1, is the start of Black History Month, a period of recognition for the contributions, triumphs, struggles, and history of Black Americans. Check out this list of events taking place all over the city — from river tours to film screenings.

Holiday

    I was able to try a new-to-me coffee shop yesterday. Cordura Coffee is located in the Pearl area and offers coffee, lattes, and matcha lattes. I recommend getting there early to snag a table.
