Now that the holidays are over and if you celebrate Christmas, you know that sooner or later you have to deal with that “Night of the Living Dead” tree in the corner.
We have some tips on how to put an old tree to good use + how to properly dispose of it.
Bye bye festive fern
The City of San Antonio Solid Waste Management Department will have four free drop-off locations for undecorated Christmas trees. Locations include the Culebra Road Drop-Off Center, Frio City Road Drop-Off Center, Rigsby Road Drop-Off Center, and Bitters Brush Recycling Center.
Drop-off recycling runs through Wednesday, Jan. 15. Be sure to check the hours of operation before you load up the truck.
Later in the month, the city is offering free mulch service by turning real Christmas trees into compost at its Bitters Brush Recycling Center while supplies last.
