News Notes

Active

Get out there, San Antonio. Our city is No. 38 on WalletHub’s list of “Best & Worst Cities for an Active Lifestyle.” If your New Year’s resolution was to move more, get your sweat on at some of our favorite local gyms.

Number

$3.53. That’s the average price of a dozen eggs in San Antonio right now. If that sounds steep, it may be in part because national egg prices are up 71% year-over-year. Factor that into the local cost of living. (Axios)

Drink

Goodbye, peppermint mocha and hello, cortado. Starbucks added a new espresso option to its menu. But can it compete with Poetic Republic Coffee Roasters’ Optimistic Latte?

Community

Smell that? Girl Scout Cookie season is upon us — and our local council, the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas, are gearing up to sling shortbread around town. Find your nearest booth.

Sports

Listen to a discussion on the current landscape of vacant head coaching jobs in the NFL. Get the latest news, analysis, and insider information for the Dallas Cowboys with Locked On’s daily, team-focused podcasts.

Wellness

Is winter weather taking a toll on your skin? Update your skincare routine to support long-lasting hydration. We love Bliss’s gentle clarifying cleanser + probiotic nourishing moisturizer.*

Tomorrow morning I’m planning to attend the Coffee on the Low event. Getting to talk with Elias and the owners about the show was an enriching experience.
