Check out the updated renderings for the upcoming Terminal C which is expected to be completed in 2028. | Rendering by Corgan, Lake Flato via San Antonio International Airport
Our airport is breaking records and ground with the latest installment to its $2.5 billion airport strategic development plan. On Tuesday San Antonio International Airport (SAT) broke ground on its new terminal which is adding 17 new gates to our transportation hub.
Soaring to new heights
The new terminal is expecting to help alleviate bottlenecks and sustain San Antonio’s rapid visitor growth. Here’s what we know:
The new space is 850,000 sqft — bigger than Terminal A + B combined
New courtyard, club lounges, and waiting areas
Three wide-body gates to accommodate for international travel
It’s expected to finish construction in 2028
Additional upgrades
In addition to the new terminal, the airport is making improvements to its runways and constructing a ground transportation center which will feature an estimated additional 2,000 public parking spaces.
Construction is already underway for SAT’s 37,000 sqft ground load facility and is expected to be completed in spring 2025.
