Did you miss early voting? Don’t worry, VIA Metropolitan Transit has your rides to the polls covered on Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Before you head to the polls, take a gander at our all-in-one voting guide to see what’s on the ballot.
Since launching the Ride VIA to Vote initiative in March 2016, the transit authority has provided more than 2,000 free trips for voters on Election Day.
To qualify for the complimentary ride, customers must present a valid voter registration cardto the bus or van operator on Election Day.
Here are the services that qualify for the promotion:
Urban Farming & Gardening Masterclass | 6-7:30 p.m. | Gardopia Gardens | $28+ | Seasoned or beginner gardeners are welcomed to this masterclass that will deepen your knowledge of urban farming.
Wednesday, Nov. 6
Harvest Market | 5 p.m.-3 a.m. | Historic Pearl | Cost of purchase | Pick up fall-themed artisan goods, snap a pic at the photo opportunity, grab a snack from local vendors, and listen to live music.
Spurs Watch Party | 5:30 p.m. | Frost Plaza at The Rock at La Cantera | Free | Bring your own chairs + blankets to watch the Silver and Black on the 40-foot outdoor screen with interactive games, appearances by Zay Zay and DJ Quake, giveaways, raffles, and activations.
Thursday, Nov. 7
Silent Book Club Meeting | 6-8 p.m. | O. P. Schnabel Park | Free | Cozy up and knock out some reading with this local club.
Glowga on the Plaza | 7:30-9 p.m. | Main Plaza | Cost of purchase | Bring your own mat and come dressed in neon for a flow session followed by local cocktail + mocktail vendors, as well as a showing of “San Antonio: The SAGA” light show.
Whataburger is offering a free 16oz hot or iced coffee to military personnel on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11. The burger chain is extending the offer to be available every day, all year. Active-duty military or veterans need to show a valid ID or dress in uniform to receive the deal.

A new Cuban bakery has opened at 5525 Blanco Rd., Suite 113. La Cubanita Bakery is serving up Cuban flan, pastelitos, senorita puff pastries, sweet yellow Cuban marquesita cakes, and other traditional treats. The cafe is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. (MySA)
