The San Antonio Food Bank received a $200,000 check from Whataburger on Friday. This is the largest contribution made from the burger chain and the funds will provide 1.4 million meals to those at risk of hunger in the area.

The Spurs hired Jacob Tobey as the new TV play-by-play announcer. He will replace longtime announcer Bill Land, who recently announced his retirement. Tobey will join veteran commentator Sean Elliott and will make his debut when the preseason tips off.

Another Alamo City business is celebrating a milestone birthday. Sam’s Burger Joint, a beloved restaurant and live music venue, is celebrating 25 years in business. Since opening in 1999, Sam’s Burger Joint has become an Alamo City landmark.
Over the last few decades, the venue has seen legendary performances (like Gary Clark Jr., Jason Isbell, and Leon Bridges), created signature branded burgers, and whipped up comfort food enjoyed by both locals + visitors alike.
