Day of the Dead River Parade | Friday, Oct. 25 | San Antonio River Walk | See decorated floats with altars, catrinas, and costumed riders all celebrating life + loved ones.
Barrio Muertos Party | Saturday, Nov. 2 | 4 p.m. to midnight | Alamo Beer Co. | This free, family-friendly event includes altars displayed in the trunks of low-riders, a block party, live music, and a night vendor market.

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles is relocating the San Antonio Regional Service Center to inside Rolling Oaks Mall. This location will offer more space, parking, and things to do while customers wait. You can find them at 6909 N. Loop 1604 E., Suite 1199, starting Wednesday, Oct. 9. (MySA)

H-E-B is moving forward with its renovation of the Central Market store on Broadway. The grocer’s plans received approval from the city of Alamo Heights’ Architectural Review Board this week, which includes replacing all front-facing signage and adding a drive-thru pharmacy. (SA Business Journal)

The San Antonio Public Library is inviting local readers to check out a book during Banned Books Week. The national event is hosted by the American Library Association and celebrates free + unrestricted access to information. The event runs through tomorrow.

Mauro de la Tierra installed a new temporary mural instillation at the Historic Pearl. The art piece details a peaceful image featuring an Anhinga bird, the San Antonio River, a prickly pear cactus, mesquite trees, and more. You can find the mural near the Culinary Institute of Art.
