We don’t need another reason to visit the Historic Pearl, but the opening of a new market is always a great excuse.
Last year, we showed you renderings of the highly anticipated Pullman Market — brain child of Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group. Now that its doors are officially open, let’s dive into the largest culinary market in the Southwest.
🌮 Pullman fast facts
Located in the former Samuels Glass Company headquarters at the Pearl, this 40,000-sqft brick warehouse includes:
A sourdough bakery
A grocer with 150 suppliers throughout Texas
A retail section with home + beauty goods, chef supplies, and toys
Five quick-service eateries serving burgers, tacos, ceviche, sandwiches, coffee, and ice cream
Four restaurants
An on-site tortilleria
An animal butcher
Out of the four restaurant concepts, two of them opened along with the market yesterday — Fife & Farro and Mezquite. The remaining two, Isidore and Nicosi, will open later this spring.
Swing by the market at 221 Newell Ave. Sunday-Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday + Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
🏢 About the building
The Samuels Glass Company was founded by Lawrence Samuels in 1914, and its headquarters was designed by architect Bartlett Cocke in 1948. The family-operated business moved to a newer facility in 2017 (off of NE Interstate 410) due to an increase in development at the Historic Pearl.
The building’s original materials commemorate its history while providing a stunning contrast to the new elements. Preservation efforts also helped the project eliminate waste while staying true to the historic + cultural integrity of the structure.
Now the home of the Pullman Market, the building’s light-filled patios, vibrant atmosphere, and selection of locally sourced goods give visitors much to peruse.

I don’t know about y’all but everything at the Pullman Market looks amazing and I can’t wait to go explore all the goods + food. Between this new market, Fiesta, and buying a car, my wallet is going to hurt for a little bit.
