For the first time in 146 years, Central Texas lies in the path of a total solar eclipse. This year’s planetary event — which takes place on Monday, April 8 — will pass through North America, entering on the west coast of Mexico and exiting through Nova Scotia, Canada.

The South Texas Blood & Tissue Center is hosting a blood donation event today at Jordan Ford (13010 N. IH 35) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. All donors will receive the center’s 50th anniversary Fiesta medal for 2024. Can’t make it out? Catch one of their upcoming blood drives.

Sojurn Trading Co. heard y’all loud and clear. The bar is now offering validated parking at the Frost Tower Parking Garage located at 111 W. Houston St. Customers can enjoy three hours of parking for $5 — just ask your server to validate your ticket.

The City of San Antonio is giving away its official 2024 Fiesta medal tomorrow at the Centro de Artes Gallery in the Historic Market Square from 10 a.m. to noon or while supplies last. This year’s medal celebrates Orgullo Tejano (Tejano Pride) and is designed by local artist Luis Lopez.

The Thrive Youth Center is hosting a Pride Open Pickleball Tournament on June 9, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Chicken N Pickle. The center will also host a drag brunch before the tournament starting at 11 a.m. Other activities include a silent auction + raffles.
