Another foodie adventure is ahead of us, San Antonio. Let us introduce you to Black Restaurant Week San Antonio (BRWSA), a week-long event beginning Sunday, Feb. 25 through Sunday, March 3. The event celebrates the contributions of local Black-owned restaurants, food trucks, and businesses. We’re ready to dig into the week and feature hard-to-beat deals.
🍔 About the week
Founded in 2018, Black culinary industry professionals, along with Black-owned food business, share a mission to promote cuisine, culture, and community. The first BRWSA was held in 2019 and has since become an anticipated annual tradition in the city. This food event helps raise awareness of the importance that local Black businesses play in the city’s diverse food scene.
Don’t miss: During the week, $1 from each purchase helps to raise funds for local charities.

Early voting for the March Primary Election is underway. Bexar County residents can vote early until Friday, March 1. Double check to see if you’re registered to vote and learn what’s on the ballots. Pro tip: Election day is Tuesday, March 5.

Stephaine Navarijo, owner of Southtown Vinyl and Prints, is selling the store located at 5709 S. Flores after four years in business. Community
The Spurs are hosting a watch party at the Rock at La Cantera tomorrow night starting at 8 p.m. as they take on the Los Angeles Lakers. The free event will include lawn games, music, photo opportunities, giveaways, and food + beverages for purchase. Tip off is at 9:30 p.m.
Festival
The third-annual San Antonio Icehouse Week kicks off tomorrow and runs through Sunday, March 3. This nine-day event gives locals a chance to explore the Alamo City’s ice house scene while enjoying a cold beer, drink specials, and giveaways. See which spots are participating.
Family
The Alamo is hosting its Family Day event on Sunday, Feb 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your family out for hands-on activities including cannon crew simulation, games, and a few undisclosed surprises. Geekdom is hosting San Antonio Startup Day (a quarterly event) on Wednesday, March 6 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. This day includes helpful resources, networking opportunities, and expert-led talks for current and aspiring entrepreneurs. Attendees can enjoy a full day of free co-working opportunities at Geekdom’s HQ as they explore the opportunities to grow in downtown SA.
