For Valentine’s Day 2024, we made a map of local places where our readers have made memories. We asked for your help compiling everything from proposals to making friends. You did not disappoint.

Explore these local love stories by clicking on the hearts, but there’s just a few love stories that we just had to share:
  • “My husband and I met as employees of The Cheesecake Factory when it opened in 2011. He was an outgoing server and I was a shy busser who was glad to get her first job. He’d try to get my attention by cracking jokes to teammates on the expo line, just to get me to laugh. He was incredibly sweet to me when I’d buss his section, despite being a little slower at it. Fast forward 15 years and we’re married with a lil’ cheesecake baby + two doggies. I’m forever thankful to La Cantera for bringing in a Cheesecake Factory.” — Anonymous reader

  • “I adopted my sweet husky mix Eros the day I met him. I knew he was the perfect pair for my husky Luna Bear.” — Anonymous reader
  • “I met my wife at the movies. She was my server back when Santikos Galaxy was The Rialto. You could say it was love at first sight. After the movie I hung around waiting to figure out how to approach her since she was working and we kept smiling at each other. Just as I was about to give up and leave, she came to me asking if I wanted her number. Of course I said yes and as I was looking for a pen and paper she handed me one of her order slips where she had already written her name and number.....fast forward, We have been together over five years now and married for over three. Best movie experience of my life!” — Anonymous reader
Now we’re really feeling the love.

I totally forgot I pre-ordered “An Evening with Silk Sonic” vinyl until it showed up at my doorstep. I plan on spinning this record while I cook dinner tonight. It’s the perfect blend of funk, soul, pop, hip-hop, and R&B to get you grooving (or cry). Want to shop for records? Check out our handy record store article.
