  • San Antonio-based Rohde Ottmers Realty has merged with NAI Global. Now under the umbrella of NAI Excel, the realty group hopes to extend its reach along the I-35 corridor and submit field referrals around the world. Rohde estimates they could double the amount of brokers within the next two years. (SA Business Journal)

  • The San Antonio River Authority has opened a 74-acre park on the city’s Southwest side near the Medina River. Hendrick Arnold Nature Park features shaded trails and will soon include bird watching stations, a picnic area, and camping spots. You can find the park at 8950 Fitzhugh Rd.

  • Rudi Gutierrez has joined Gwen Stefani’s team on the NBC show “The Voice.” The 28-year-old San Antonian sang “You Don’t Own Me” by Lesley Gore during her audition and caught the attention of all four judges. Watch her performance and tune in every Monday + Tuesday at 7 p.m. to watch the show.

The Magik Theatre is kicking off its 2023-2024 season with a new show, “Carmela Full of Wishes” based on the book of the same title by award-winning author Matt de la Peña and illustrator Christian Robinson. This adaptation depicts the story of Carmela on her 7th birthday and the wishes + dreams she has for her life.

I’m so excited for the Spurs’ upcoming season at the Frost Bank Center. Also this week, Devin Vassell agreed to a five-year $146 million contract extension — that’s $30 million a year. I would be able to pay off the rest of my student loans much quicker with that money.
