See a pothole? Dial 311 to report it. | Photo by the City of San Antonio
Hole-y moley. From Oct. 1, 2019 through Sept. 30, 2020, the City of San Antonio’s Pothole Patrol crew repaired over 94,000 potholes. However, only 10% of these repairs were reported by San Antonians. We can help change that.
That’s a lot of potholes but according to the city, the Pothole Patrol can fix these road blemishes within two business days of being reported. We’re here to break down the process of reporting these menaces in the hopes of saving a trip to the auto repair shop and your sanity. Let’s tread into it.
🚧 Spot-a-pothole
Knowing the difference between a pothole and pavement repair is key when reporting to the city. Here’s the breakdown:
Pothole: 3 ft by 3 ft or smaller in size
Pavement repair: Larger than 3 ft by 3 ft
Found one? Wonderful, go ahead take note of the neighborhood or even street intersections that can closely identify where it is located.
🚧 Report-a-pothole
Reporting a pothole is as easy as dialing 311. The Pothole Patrol consists of 16 crews across four service centers, covering the Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, and Southwest regions of the city. Once your request is made, they do their best to resolve the issue within two business days.
Pro tip: You can also use the city’s 311SA Mobile App for pothole reporting + other service requests like garbage dumping.
🚧 Track-a-pothole
Interested in seeing the pending repairs and requests across the city? Look no further than the city’s live project tracker. You can look up your pothole service request for an update or check out different types of repairs like traffic signals and even historic preservation.
