Date night ideas in San Antonio

Kids, this is the story of how I met your mother, and it was all thanks to SATXtoday.

Ok, so maybe that’s not exactly how the 2000s sitcom went, but if Ted Mosby had consulted us for date night ideas, we could’ve shaved the show down to two seasons (and saved his kids a lot of time). Regardless, whether you’ve met “the one” or are hoping to impress someone new, we’ve got 25+ local date night ideas that are legen — wait for it — dary.

For the ones who want a night out on the town

  • Underneath the Bottling Department at the Pearl lies a romantic hideaway and club — Jazz, TX. Snag tickets to a performance and don’t forget the club’s kitchen + bar are open for dinner service.
  • Tucked away along Loop 410 just before IH-10 is Dad’s Karaoke. If you’re feeling brave, or want to show off your vocal skills, sign up to sing your favorite karaoke song.
The photo is taken side stage as someone plays the piano and an artist sings. Theres a single couple dancing on the dance floor in front of seated patrons.

For the ones who like to play games (just not with your heart)

  • This one is for the competitive couples. Bring your date over to Monster Mini Golf on Thursdays for Black Light Date Night. The mini golf course is running a weekly special — $10 mini golf per couple.
  • See if your date can handle playing Monopoly by heading out to Black Potion San Antonio to play tabletop games. Nominated for “Best Bar Games” in San Antonio, this business also serves craft + local beer and wine.

If you want an “old fashioned”-style date

  • Take a short drive to New Braunfels to the Stars and Stripes Drive-In Theatre. This movie experience is open daily at 7 p.m., features all the newest movies, and offers all the traditional movie treats.
  • Grab your skates + date, and head roll on down to the Rollercade for an old fashioned night out. Skate around hand-in-hand to all your favorite hits without dragging your date down.

The bright burst of a freshly picked blueberry in your mouth, the excitement of seeing the first heirloom tomato of the season, a warm loaf of bread nestled into your tote bag... just thinking about our favorite local farmers market fills us with pride.

It’s time to turn that appreciation into a vote — so that the entire nation can know San Antonio has the best farmers markets around.

The 2023 America’s Farmers Market Celebration is open to votes through Monday, Sept. 18 to find a “People’s Choice” farmers market as the top-endorsed market in the country. The prize? Up to $15,000 for the top five markets to spend on marketing, communication, and other needs.

The most popular market in each state also wins $100 — so get voting.

“What tequila-based drink do you prefer?”

SATXtoday: Saint Maya Tequila

Share your Saint Maya Tequila (responsibly) with your friends.

This is the question we asked on National Tequila Day. 62% of you voted for a margarita while 26% choose a paloma, and the remaining 12% prefer something else. However, no one liked a Tequila Sunrise. Well that’s shocking.

Fun fact: My favorite TV show is “How I Met Your Mother.” I’ve watched the series at least four or five times through and I always find something different to laugh about or relate to. It’s definitely a comfort show for me. Add pizza from Poppy’s and a bottle of wine from Augusta Vin (my favorite Frederickburg winery) and I’m one happy girl.

Have y’all seen the spin off, “How I Met Your Father,” that came to Hulu last year? It’s quickly becoming my new favorite show.
