Can you believe it’s already time to vote in the San Antonio General Election? Election Day is Saturday, May 6. We’ve done the Googling so you don’t have to. To make this election as easy as possible, we’ve curated need-to-know information about how and where to vote, along with what is on this year’s ballots — from City Council seats to propositions.
Bexar County polling places are open now through Tuesday, May 2, with Election Day to follow on Saturday, May 6. Here is a breakdown of voting hours through the week:
Monday, April 24-Thursday, April 27 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Saturday, April 29 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Monday, May 1 and Tuesday, May 2 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Have a mail-in ballot? Completed ballots must be received — not postmarked — by Saturday, May 6 to be counted. Check out these mail-in ballot instructions.
What are we voting on?
In Bexar County, you’ll be voting for a mayor, 10 City Council seats, and one proposition. Voters can find a condensed version of Proposition A and a list of all the candidates on the sample ballot.

The $250 million bond election for Southwest ISD has forced some San Antonio residents to vote twice. This method forces voters to vote twice during early voting if they want to vote for both the school board and San Antonio’s mayor. The school board currently has no plans to change this issue. (TPR)

Attention beer lovers. The Illinois based chain – Beerhead Bar & Eatery – is coming to San Antonio. In addition to bottled and draft beer, customers can also enjoy pizza, small bites, salads, sandwiches, and weekend brunch. The construction of the 2,867- sqft facility will begin in May 2023 and is expected to be slated by the end of July. (SA Current)

The Public Theater of San Antonio’s Executive Artistic Director has announced her resignation. Claudia de Vasco will leave the position on July 17. The Board of Trustees has already started searching for Claudia’s replacement.
Environment
Did you catch the SpaceX launch last week? Reports of brownish particulates were found by residents six miles from the launch site shortly after the explosion. Now, the Federal Aviation Administration has grounded future SpaceX launches pending an environmental impact investigation. (SA Current)

Have you seen Bakery Lorraine on our city brunch guide? Now the bakery is offering a pickle macaron inspired by Fiesta and created by one of their pastry chefs, Kristina. These specialty macarons are available at all Bakery Lorraine locations for $3 each while supplies last. (MySA)
Art
San Antonio artist Nik Soupè has revamped his mural of Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan. Inspired by the colors of Fiesta inspired jersey’s from this year’s basketball season, Soupè also added Sochan’s jersey number and full name to the mural. See the Fiesta upgrades. (KENS5)
