Remember doodling with sidewalk chalk? Well, some people never stopped.

20 featured artists + 52 school and community groups will show us how it’s done tomorrow, Sat., Oct. 8, at the 19th Annual Chalk It Up festival. From 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Houston St. (from Flores to Presa), see live mural creations and help support your local arts organizations. This year’s theme: the San Antonio River.

Plus, it’s all free. We can’t imagine a better midday stroll.
THE WRAP

Today’s issue was written by Dayten.

Editor’s pick: It was sort of inevitable that this would come up, but in researching this story I finally had to confront Texas barbecue. In case you didn’t know, my hometown of Kansas City prides itself on having the best in the world. Does it stack up to Texas? I don’t want to poke that bear. Suffice it to say, I’ll give you credit on your brisket if you acknowledge the wonders of KC burnt ends.
