San Antonio has an endless list of activities to do, friend groups to join, and classes to take. Today we’re shining a light on an up-and-coming trend — no, not run clubs, but those are cool too — it’s the art of pottery + ceramic making.
Let’s get those wheels spinning and unlock your next favorite hobby.
San Antonio Potters Guild
This established nonprofit has been accepting members and conducting community outreach events since 1995. You can catch them at Curator Coffee on select days where they host pottery markets — more on them in a second.
Curator Coffee
Blending local art and espresso together, this Thousand Oaks neighborhood coffee shop offers seasonal pottery classes. Its upcoming holiday schedule consists of classes making ceramic mugs + ornaments. Pro tip: Your ticket includes one free drink.
Roadrunner Ceramics
In addition to pottery, this organization also hosts classes on vinyl making + layering, as well as abroad art tours. One of its upcoming classes is in collaboration with the San Antonio Potters Guild and is a two day event led by artist Scott Stockdale.
Clay Casa
Don’t want to get your hands dirty? Not a problem, because here you pick your pottery and paint your own design. Clay Casa offers themed nights, a huge selection of items, and reservations for birthday parties. Check out its newest location in the Alamo Ranch area.
Mud Studio
Catch the last six week class of the year starting on Monday, Oct. 28. Here, you’ll learn everything from basic to advanced techniques of clay throwing.
