We’ve all been there. You or your friends have kids and the babysitter falls through on the way to watch a Spurs game at your favorite bar — or your best friend is visiting from out of town and they’re bringing their kids along, so where do you go?

We’ve rounded up six kid-friendly bars in the Alamo City that people (and pets) of all ages can enjoy

Backyard on Broadway , 2411 Broadway

Since 2018, this spot offers a large selection of beer, pizza, live music, TVs, and a kid’s play area. Pro tip: It’s kid-friendly until 9 p.m.

Burleson Yard Beer Garden , 430 Austin St.

Come enjoy indoor and outdoor spaces just outside of downtown featuring beer + cocktails, a kids play area, a food truck, and live music.

Enjoy a frozen margarita and a food truck at Burleson Yard Beer Garden.

Dog and Pony Grill , 1481 S. Main St., Boerne

Just outside of San Antonio, this spot has a live music stage, dance floor, full drink + food menu, fenced dog park, covered patio, playground for the kids, and a basketball court.

Enjoy the outdoors with your kids featuring a full drink and food menu at this spot just north of San Antonio.

Friendly Spot , 943 S. Alamo St.

This friendly Southtown Ice House is a great outdoor spot to watch sports on the big screen, complete with a kids play area, full bar with beer + cocktails, and a food menu.

Pigpen , 106 Pershing Ave.

After reopening at the end of 2022, this bar and brunch spot located in Alamo Heights is the perfect place for you and the kids to hang out. Enjoy a Brisket Bloody Mary or a Ranch Water on the patio as the kids go up and down the slide.

Texas Dog Co. , 4302 Hyatt Place Dr.

Opened this past spring, the Northside dog park + beer garden is also kid friendly. As the adults play in their volleyball league, the kids can enjoy the play area. Don’t forget to grab tacos from El Mitote.

Try the that’s fetch margarita at Texas Dog Co.
