Here’s some egg-celent news for all the gastronomes out there — San Antonio ranked No. 35 on WalletHub’s list of best foodie cities in the US. While we already know the Alamo City is a hot spot for all things food and wine, it’s pretty neat that the data backs it up.
WalletHub’s study compared 182 cities — “including the 150 most populated US cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state” — across dimensions of affordability, diversity, accessibility, and quality. Within these dimensions were 29 metrics, such as cost of groceries, average price of beer and wine, restaurants per capita, and food festivals per capita.
According to the data, San Antonio ranked No. 9 for affordability and No. 48 for diversity, accessibility, and quality.
To celebrate our city’s accolade, we recommend enjoying a meal at your favorite local spot or hitting up a new restaurant in town that you have been eager to try. Not sure where to get started? We have plenty of food and beverage resources for you. Some of our favorites include:
- The taco de chilaquiles from Tlahco Mexican Kitchen
- The hot braised wings from The Moon’s Daughters
- The southtown roll from Sukeban Sushi & Champagne Bar
