H-E-B has hired its first-ever female president. Roxanne Orsak, who joined the grocer in 1988 as a store management trainee and now serves as COO, will step into the role in January. She will succeed Craig Boyan, who’s spent two decades leading the company. (San Antonio Current)

Trinity University plans to launch the Carlos Alvarez School of Arts and Humanities, thanks to a $25 million gift from the family of Carlos Alvarez, the late founder of The Gambrinus Company. The funding will support scholarships, faculty positions, and new research opportunities. (San Antonio Business Journal)

$4.1 million. That’s what Target is spending on upgrades at its Southeast Military Drive store. Expect a larger grocery section, more in-store showcases, and expanded inventory in home, apparel, and beauty. Construction kicks off in March with an August completion date. (MySA)
