12 businesses soaring to new heights

It’s true: The Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies in the US is out, and 25 San Antonio companies made the cut.

The list ranks companies based on their three-year revenue growth. To be eligible, a business must have been independently owned, privately held, and operated for profit at the end of 2024.

Four local companies cracked the top 500, and eight more cleared the top 3,000 nationwide.

No. 65: Tomball Controls
This Von Ormy-based company specializes in designing and manufacturing custom fuel tanks, generator enclosures, and access platforms for emergency power generators. The company recorded a 4,490% three-year revenue growth.

No. 179: Steward Risk
This San Antonio insurance company provides insurance and risk management solutions to middle-market clients and posted 2,193% growth.

No. 184: 19:21 Consultants Co.
A New Braunfels-based company, 19:21 Consultants Co. provides small to medium-sized businesses with benefits strategies, group health insurance, and HR outsourcing. According to Inc., it recorded 2,135% growth.

Civic

San Antonio City Council council members introduced a new resolution yesterday allowing City Manager Erik Walsh to complete Project Marvel negotiations with the San Antonio Spurs. While council has scheduled a vote later this month to advance Project Marvel negotiations, Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones urges an independent economic impact study. (Fox San Antonio)

Development

This week, Methodist Stone Oak Hospital began its $104 million renovation and expansion. Poised to be complete by late 2026, the project will add two new floors encompassing 83,948 sqft of space, 54 new beds, new ICU and Med Tele beds, a renovated hospital kitchen, and expanded lab and parking space. Archies Coffee has brought a fourth San Antonio location for its elevated CBD-infused drinks to the historic King William neighborhood of Southtown. The latest expansion of the wellness chain also serves cocktails and plant-based energy drinks, as well as tea and pastries. (MySA)

The Gruene Music & Wine Fest is coming to the Hill Country Thursday, Oct. 9 to Sunday, Oct. 12, benefiting United Way and featuring live music headliners like Jamey Johnson and the Josh Abbott band.
