Thursday, Sept. 18
YMCA of Greater San Antonio’s Casino Night | 6-10 p.m. | Pedrotti’s Ranch | $200+ | The night promises a delightful mix of dining, drinks, live music, and casino fun, all to support the Y.
The Rim is saying goodbye to two beloved restaurant concepts, The General Public and Bowl & Barrel. In a joint Instagram statement, both restaurants announced that they have ceased operations in San Antonio. (MySA)

Can’t resist the siren song. A $21 million new Target store is coming to Southwest San Antonio near Flix Brewhouse. It serves as anchor to a new shopping center at Marbach Road and Loop 1604 — and clocks in at 148,000 sqft, making it even bigger than Austin’s H-E-B. (MySA)
Civic
County commissioners voted Tuesday, Aug. 12 to call for a November special election on the creation of a 177.6-acre new city, dubbed “Constitution City.” The town would center around Patriot Academy, a nonprofit private school, and its campus. (San Antonio Business Journal)
Arts
Downtown’s Magik Theatre has announced its season for 2025-26, trimmed down to two shows: “Red Riding Hood” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” After the latter closes, the Magik’s brick-and-mortar building will halt operations temporarily for renovations — and refocus on its various touring shows. San Antonio ISD students returning to Lanier High School will see the results of $30 million in renovations made to the campus. Library, auditorium, concessions stand, and restroom renovations were among the improvements, as well as HVAC upgrades and Alumni Center renovation. (KSAT)
