Back in July, we talked about a very popular Outdoor Library concept in Seoul, South Korea, that drew a million visitors in just the last three months. These vibrant spaces include areas to read, enjoy the atmosphere, and engage in a wealth of cultural activities.
And we asked: Where would you put an outdoor library in San Antonio?

Bexar County, the City of San Antonio, and the San Antonio River Authority have announced a new $20 million flood warning system. It will use real-time data from rain gauges and sensors for precise readings that provide residents and first responders with crucial early warnings. (San Antonio Business Journal)
Civic
Some economic consultants forecast that Project Marvel, San Antonio’s planned downtown sports and entertainment district, could generate $18.7 billion over 30 years. Expect a City Council vote Thursday, Aug. 21 on a non-binding term sheet regarding what the city’s commitment is to funding its portion of the project via bond structure. Texas Partners Bank chairman and CEO J. Bruce Bugg, Jr., has died. Bugg also chaired the Texas Transportation Commission, which oversees the Texas Department of Transportation. “His memory will continue to inspire the bank’s commitment to trust, integrity, and service,” said Texas Partners Bank President Brent Given. A new Burlington — the company’s 126th in Texas — is set to open today, Aug. 8 at 11650 Bandera Road on the city’s Northwest side. According to the company’s release, the first 100 customers ages 18+ at the new location will receive a $10 Bonus Card. (MySA)

Bexar County Academy Charter School has announced its closure just days before school was slated to start. In a public statement, Superintendent Ron Young wrote that the board of directors voted last week to surrender the school’s charter to the Texas Education Agency. (KENS5)
