A $1.5 million, 23,299-sqft new Sprouts Farmers Market is headed for Boerne. Abiso Real Estate of San Antonio, who is also behind the development of a new Sprouts location poised to open on the Northwest Side, will be handling the leasing. Community
It’s no secret that we love San Antonio’s parks. The city’s Westside Park is about to receive $200,000 in upgrades, with construction starting in the winter. Improvements on a trail and repairs to a cracked basketball court are on the slate, as well as a new restroom facility, according to the city’s documents. (MySA)
Coming Soon
Early bird tickets are now on sale for the Fredericksburg Food & Wine Festival and are available through Sunday, Aug. 31. The festival, coming October 21-26, will feature a grand tasting, a tequila day party, and other tasty fun. Festival funds raised also go toward much-needed Hill Country flood relief. Opening
Killer Burger is poised to open a second San Antonio location Monday, Aug. 4 in the bustling Brooks area. The new spot will be serving up its award-winning burgers at 7511 S. New Braunfels Ave., Suite 105. Owned by founder Thomas “TJ” Southard, it will be run by Natasha Fogel, the first female franchisee. (Globe NewsWire)
Theater
San Antonio’s professional children’s theater, the Magik Theatre, is soon to undergo a $2.2 million renovation. The first phase will begin in January 2026, according to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings. It will include accessibility modifications, upgrading HVAC systems, and installing new emergency lighting, custom theater seats, and smoke alarms. (MySA)

Beloved Pan-Asian buffet Lin’s International Buffet has announced it will be closing Monday, Aug. 4. But don’t worry — you can still visit its very similar sister restaurant, Lin’s Seafood & Sushi, which opened in September 2024, at 615 SW Loop 410. (San Antonio Culture Map)

Just south of Bexar County, W.W. Wood, Inc. — a local barbecue products company — was engulfed in flames over the weekend in a structure fire. Bexar County and other local fire departments responded to the call. Thankfully, there was no one present in the building and there were no injuries at the time of the fire. (MySA)
