It’s almost time for another editions of the Balcones Heights Jazz Festival. The 32nd edition of the event returns to the Wonderland of the Americas Amphitheater on Friday, July 18. The first performer — Jeff Kashiwa — hits the stage at 7:30 p.m.

The State of Texas will pay to install flood sirens along the Guadalupe River before next summer, according to Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick. Many areas on the river have sirens, like San Marcos, and more solutions will be discussed in the upcoming special session later this month. (Spectrum News 1)

The Carver Branch library in San Antonio’s Eastside is getting ready for some serious upgrades — $12.8 million of them, to be exact. Renovations will begin in September to accommodate the area’s rapidly growing population, and it will be around two years until it reopens. (My San Antonio)
