Picture this: You just moved to San Antonio and you need some help with the practicalities of life (we can’t just sit back and drink margaritas all day, unfortunately). That’s where we come in.
School registration
Prepare your student for the school year by registering them with one of Bexar County’s many school districts, like San Antonio ISD. You can find your school zone (based on your home address), a list of registration and immunization requirements, and the student entry form here. With your required documents in hand, you’ll then make an appointment at your student’s zoned school to complete the registration process.
Library card registration
If you think libraries are only for renting the occasional book, think again. Register for a library card at your nearest San Antonio branch, or apply for an eCard (valid for 90 days) online, to take advantage of other perks. To get your card, you’ll need proof of identity and proof of address.

$5 million. That’s the amount the Bexar County Commissioners Court approved for UTSA’s future $35 million athletics center. Roadrunners NEST should open in late 2026 next to the Roadrunner Athletics Center of Excellence. Residents can use the volleyball and basketball facilities as part of the agreement. (San Antonio Report)
Traffic
This morning, the City Council will approve or deny a proposed ordinance for a Safe Routes To School (SRTS) program at area schools. If it’s approved, the application will be sent on to TxDOT, and work on the ~$800,000 pilot program could begin by next summer. (KSAT)

Work is expected to last ~eight weeks, and Jolly Jack will be back in his original 1965 state by the chain’s 60th anniversary celebration later this summer. (KSAT)

Rudy’s Seafood on the South Side was sure the Spurs would select prospect Dylan Harper in last night’s NBA Draft; so much so that the restaurant had local artist Nick Soupe paint a mural of the player at the business before the big event even took place. (KSAT)
